A Dublin original, the pub first opened its doors in 1902 as Hughes’ Public House before taking the name M. O’Brien’s — in honor of its longtime owner, the late Michael O’Brien of Co. Cavan.
Through the years it has welcomed writers, gravediggers, doctors, and locals from every walk of life. The bar remains largely unchanged — one of the city’s oldest, where pints are still poured with care.
With a traditional lounge, an outdoor suntrap, and a location just minutes from St. Stephen’s Green, Grafton Street, and the Aviva Stadium, it’s a natural stop on match days or whenever you want a drink in good company.
